EBLI offers specialized trainings for foundations, nonprofits, and other community groups who are dedicated to providing efficient, effective literacy instruction. These trainings are focused on the building blocks of reading and are geared towards any individual that teaches exclusively in 1-on-1 settings. There will be opportunities for the staff to practice the strategies with each other during the trainings and to observe students being instructed in EBLI on video and/or in person.
If you have a minimum 10 people interested in EBLI training that ONLY teach in a 1 on 1 setting, please contact us directly at (810) 732-4810 about special scheduling for our 2-Day EBLI training for 1 on 1 Instructors.
*** IMPORTANT: EBLI trainings are intended to provide educators with the necessary information and materials to teach students directly; they will not have permission to or be capable of teaching other educators how to teach EBLI. ***
Who is the training for?
This 2-day training is for 2nd – 12th grade tutors, community volunteers, or individuals who work exclusively in 1-on-1 settings.
What is the training about?
Trainees learn how to teach the building blocks of reading and how to assist their students reading in authentic text so they become independent, proficient readers. Trainees will be taught how to efficiently remediate students 2nd grade and older so their students are able to read accurately, fluently, and with good comprehension.
Lesson plans
Upon completion, trainees receive a set of 15 lessons to assist them in systematically teaching their students to read to their highest potential.
After the training
Consulting is mandatory for this 2-day training. The number and arrangement of consulting days will be determined on a case by case basis depending on the number of trainees attending and the delivery model. At minimum, 3 consulting visits are required per trainee. To learn more about onsite consulting, download the EBLI Coaching Guidelines.
