Get Trained in EBLI
EBLI offers several training programs targeted by grade level. Educators can choose from the following trainings:
EBLI Trainings for Schools
3-day: Initial Reading Instruction (PreK – 1st grade)
This 3-day EBLI training is for classroom teachers at the Pre-kindergarten through 1st grade level and provides trainees with instruction and practice in teaching research-based reading skills, concepts, strategies, and activities. PreK-1st grade student instruction is sequential, developmentally appropriate, and organized to be delivered at an accelerated pace.
3-day: Elementary and Remedial Reading Instruction (2nd – 12th grade)
This 3-day EBLI training is for 2nd – 4th grade classroom teachers as well as for any teachers, paraprofessionals, or anyone that delivers remedial reading instruction for 2nd – 12th grade (Title I, Special Education, RTI, and Remedial Reading classes or pull out). Teachers in this training are taught how to infuse EBLI into their content area instruction, assisting students in improving their reading, spelling, and writing ability within grade level content. Remedial reading educators learn how to efficiently remediate students 2nd grade and older and assist them in reading authentic text accurately, fluently, and with good comprehension. The goal of remedial instruction is for students to become independent, proficient readers and to be able to return to their classroom prepared to managing the grade level expectations as well as improve their performance on assessment measures.
2-day: Secondary Training (5th – 12th grade content area classroom teachers)
This 2-day EBLI training is designed for 5th – 12th grade content area classroom teachers to infuse EBLI into content area vocabulary instruction in the classroom. Trainees then are able to teach their students the the logic of the English alphabetic code along with pertentint vocabulary information which results in improving accurate reading and spelling of high level words and vocabulary knowledge. Teachers receive EBLI’s Secondary Vocabulary curriculum of 40 lessons of EBLI-ized ACT/SAT words and are taught how to EBLI-ize their own content area vocabulary. EBLI secondary instruction typically results in students improving reading accuracy, speed, and comprehension and writing as well as increases in EXPLORE, Plan, and ACT/SAT scores.
