Teaching The World To Read

About Us

Evidence-Based Literacy Instruction (EBLI) is a proprietary system that teaches learners of all ages and ability levels to reach their highest potential in reading. EBLI has been implemented in over 200 schools and has been continuously refined from training thousands of classroom teachers, community tutors, and remedial reading specialists. EBLI was developed from what research has shown is necessary to teach anyone of any ability level to reach their highest potential in reading as well as from over a decade of working individually with clients of all ages and ability levels at Ounce of Prevention Reading Center in Flushing, MI.

General Information

Do you have information I can give to somebody who has never heard of EBLI?
We recommend that they watch the videos on our home page, look at the results page, and read more about EBLI. We also have a list of people (teachers, administrators, and community members) who have used EBLI and enjoy discussing their experience with it with others who are interested. There is information in your EBLI binder that you are welcome to share with others, too.
Do you offer an EBLI refresher course?
We do offer an opportunity for EBLI trainees to come back to one or all the days of the type of training they attended originally/. You are welcome to join scheduled trainings for $100/day to refresh your skills and pick up more details to enhance your EBLI practice. (Materials are not included in this price, but previous trainees are welcome to purchase our updated (as of 9/12) EBLI binder for $75.) Also, as a Member of the EBLI Premium Member’s Area, you have access to all EBLI webinars. If you have suggestions for topics that you would like to see addressed in webinars, please email them to info@ebli.com or post them on our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/EBLIreads.
Do you provide scholarships for EBLI training?
We do not offer scholarships. Trainees in need of assistance in the past have received funding for EBLI Training by seeking out grants and scholarships from community organizations.
How long will it take me to be fluent at teaching EBLI?
You will be effective at teaching EBLI immediately if you follow the lessons and implement it with fidelity. Even with being less efficient, which is typical when you first start teaching EBLI, your students will make significant progress quickly. It typically takes trainees up to a year to become fluent at teaching EBLI. Remember: the more you teach EBLI, the more efficient and effective you become. You students will love EBLI and will learn from each other through the process!
